Sheridan is the city and county seat of Grant County, Arkansas. The community is located deep in the forests of the Arkansas Timberlands. It sits at the intersection of US Highway 270 and US Highway 167. Early settlers were drawn to the area by the native timber, which is still a very important part of Sheridan's economy, although the city has diversified into several other industries. Located at the southern end of the Little Rock-North Little Rock AR. Sheridan has been experiencing a population boom in recent years, as indicated by a 49% growth in population between the 1990 and 2010 censuses. The population as of the 2010 census was 4,603. In 2018 an annual population estimate done for Grant County Arkansas, showed there to be an estimated population of 17,853. Another census will be one done in 2020.
