Today we want to talk to you about a true treasure in Grant County, the Sheridan School District. They continue to raise the bar academically for all students. They are a 6A school classification and are located only 34 miles to Little Rock. The average teacher pay is $52,128. There are currently seven campuses offering lots of choices for the students including a robust Gifted and Talent Program for all grades. Students can choose from a variety of Pre-Ap classes for grades 6-10, plus a number of AP and concurrent credit courses in grades 10-12. They are ranked among the top high schools in Arkansas by the U.S. News and World Report, which ranks schools based on their performances on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college. With the construction of a new addition to the high school, which will be open for the 2019-2020 school year, Sheridan is leading the state in partnering with local businesses to offer more career and technical education courses. The Sheridan High School addition will house Kohler Academy, which will prepare students for careers in engineering and advanced manufacturing by giving them access to a robotics machine and other equipment actually used in Kohler facilities. Additionally, Sheridan offers a wide range of services for students with special needs.

Their Athletic Program is booming. The district now supports 14 AAA sports composed of 43 different teams. Their band is continuously ranked high and dominates in several categories.
